Lazlo began as an exploration of sustainability in the fashion industry.

Our first project focused on an American icon, the white tee. We set up a cut-and-sew studio in Detroit, custom-developed a fabric from the finest organic cotton and hired Aaron, who had spent 22 years in prison, to do our production sewing. We have an exciting update coming soon on workforce development in Detroit.

Along the way, we've cultivated an appreciation for skilled craftsmanship and luxurious natural materials. We've also observed how consumption is often about chasing external validation or filling a void. Lazlo offers an alternative relationship to the material goods in our lives, built on an admiration for timeless design and a commitment to healthy local economies.

We're in no rush, tracking down exceptional fibers and developing relationships with artisans to create products that represent the best of human capacity.
